Miracles by Appointment magic show by magician Robert K. Miller Northbrook IL, Chicago Metro area. Magic for Grown-Ups

"Ellie and I would like to thank you for the wonderful performance you gave us for our 50th wedding anniversary party. It was perfect for all ages."

You know what I've found over the years? The magic is not really in the magic. It's in the ... magic! The proof of that is right in this picture (that's Robert K. Miller, to the right). Notice the smiles. That's the true magic ... when people can set aside reality for just a moment, and simply have some fun. Those smiles are what it's all about.

That's how I inject magic into your association or club meeting, or party! "Miracles by Appointment" is ideal for an anniversary, open house, birthday, family reunion or reception. Best of all, it's for all ages (almost -- I've already said ages four to 104, remember?). My participation will help assure your best party or event. Ever.

"I've never been a fan of magic, but your performance was mesmerizing. That's why I watched it twice!"

James W. Covington, Jr.

Part of that smile magic is the "Wow!" magic itself. I work wonders in your home or at a restaurant, hotel, meeting room or banquet hall. The Wow! factor distinguishes me from another entertainer. And, people do get involved.

There is stand-up and close-up magic. All of my programs feature audience participation, mystery, surprises, stories, comedy, and fun for everyone. They are carefully structured events, with a clear beginning, a fun middle and an entertaining conclusion.

You can see it for yourself. When we get together, don't watch me. Watch the audience. Sure, a family show has special material for the young people. But check the adults' smiles. Adults not only enjoy watching the youngsters have fun, they also become swept up by the magic and the stories themselves. And, there's special recognition for your guest of honor.

Call me. Working together, we will tailor what's best for your situation. There are different formats to choose from, or we can work out a combination. Here are some examples.

Photo credit: Jerome Sharff Stand-up Show: You and your guests assemble in your living room or family room. Or for a luncheon or dinner, everyone remains at their tables as I perform at one side of the room. The program runs 45-50 minutes, but can be shorter if you prefer.

You might witness "effects" using huge playing cards, rope, giant dollar bills, silk scarves and even a common newspaper. People come up to help with some of the magic and, several times, everyone becomes involved right from their seats. One funny routine utilizes a padlock and keys plus eight helpers. The rest of the audience determines the amazing and surprising outcome (which somehow I knew beforehand).

By the way, I select only those who really want to participate. I never "pick on" or embarrass anyone. In fact, to even reach those folks in the back, I provide a sophisticated, battery powered, wireless sound system, which insures that everyone can hear well, without being imposing.

Close-up Show: In this more intimate and intriguing setting, up to 20 people sit around a table. This program also is 45-50 minutes long. The magic is done with playing cards, currency, coins, tickets, keys, dice and foam rabbits. Suddenly, it becomes clear. My hands are not quicker than your eyes, just a bit trickier.

Strolling entertainment:This style of magic is the perfect ice breaker. I walk through your cocktail party or open house, performing with those same small props from my pockets. I greet people, entertain for a few minutes and move on.

Two people will see a couple of effects, three/four/five guests will enjoy three or four mysteries, and more if a crowd gathers. There are special items for youngsters. Approximately 60 folks will become involved with the magic and laughing in an hour. The more time, the more magic.

Table to table: I entertain at the tables during a luncheon or dinner. Performing for five to seven minutes is best, since tables usually seat 8-10.

"Your appearance, bearing and style are tremendously effective in casting a spell. You are the 'friend of a friend' who came to dinner, and just happens to have some amusing stories to tell."

Laird Landon

The challenge, and the opportunity, is in the timing. People can't enjoy magic while they are eating. If a wait staff serves food, I have to entertain between courses and/or after dessert, and all of the tables usually are in the same stages of the meal at the same time. A buffet dinner provides more flexibility, including "working the line." I still will be alert for the best opportunities at each table, though, so that I don't intrude. This format has the lowest entertainment-to-time ratio, and the highest cost per minute of actual magic.

"Your 'Miracles by Appointment' program today was outstanding! I know the Townley Club of Deerfield members thoroughly enjoyed your performance and are all wondering 'How did he do that?'"

How to select the best format: With a formal stand-up or close-up show, everyone sees all of the magic. A stand-up act is the most "showy." On the other hand, many people feel that if they can get right beside the magician, they will figure out how it's done. Not so, of course, but that's what makes a close-up show a unique experience. There's an incredible "it happened in my own hands" feeling with small magic.

Strolling magic flows through your party. You don't have to ask your guests to assemble to be entertained, because the fun takes place wherever they may be. At the same time, though, I can't guarantee that each guest will be in a position to see strolling magic.

We could combine things, too. You might choose both walkaround magic and a stand-up show after a lunch or dinner. Frankly, one or the other is more cost-effective for you, because I have to charge if I must wait for you to finish your meal.

You may need a special close-up show for your best clients ... strolling entertainment during cocktail receptions ... or a stand-up show for customers and prospects. Don't forget staff meetings and recognition programs. Your firm's name and products can be integrated into the presentations, as well.

Let's talk. The more I know about who is coming and what else you are planning, the more quickly we can choose the ideal format to meet your special needs.
